Re: It has Begun
I have solved my problem. I started at the jumper and traced the circuit to see why I wasn't getting power to the second row and saw a tiny little nick in a trace on the edge of one of the holes. It was just a little bump, but it broke the trace completely. Little shiny copper exposed that wasn't co...

Re: It has Begun
Thank you, Tony for the response. I appreciate your time. I have had enough success to get me back to where I was before I started "fixing things." I found a 5V zener that was junked, and replaced it so now I am back to having the first row work but still no power to the second row. I'll t...

H E L P !!!!!!
So I don't know what I did, but I created me a really big problem tonight. I've been working my way down from the "top," meaning the side opposite the power leads. (Refer to above pics.) I've stuffed that top row of the board pcb. (16 holes worth.) I tested the voltages and amperages as li...

Re: It has Begun
I've been away from this for a while, but am now back in gear. Got a tube to light up and everything! I've got a question about the M3 washers. Where do they go? Are they supposed to be used between the nut and the coil base when attaching board coils to the board pcb? Thanks, and I'll get b...

Re: It has Begun
No Tony, I have not given up. I have been distracted as of late. I have 6 minutes of music that I have to write, plus kid's science fair is this week. And blah blah blah. I will be moving back into this hopefully soon. I have done some research and experimentation regarding the coloring of the board...

Re: It has Begun
Makes perfect sense, Andrew. Thank you. I know that it needs to be in true series, but thought there was some trick being described.

Re: It has Begun
From there I put two nuts on the bolt and aligned them and stuck the bolt into my variable speed cordless drill. DSC_6009.JPG I then attached the wire to the bolt and strung it through the solder port and gave it one wrap. I stuck a clothespin on the two bolts and aligned it with the soldering ports...

Re: It has Begun
My next goal was to complete these tests that Tony has suggested elsewhere. He wrote: "For quick power points the vertical link on the centre right is 0V and any point on the ferrites will be OK for 12V. It should only draw a couple of mA at this point through the 1k5 resistor next to the pic. ...

Re: It has Begun
From there I corrected the trace error on the flip side of the board. I have a Philips screw driver that I got overzealous with a while ago and broke. The sharp edge that was left on that tool worked very well for me to scrape off the insulation and expose the tracking. DSC_5985.jpg DSC_5988.jpg And...
