Don't tempt me... This one is already costing me a fortune...
If you ever make those IN-28 and IV-29 base pieces I'll get those from you, how about that?

Re: Piece display PCB discussion
I will NOT be auctioning it! And with all the parts, tools, and labor $5K would be cheap!
Use a Meanwell power supply, don't cheap out with that other one. Buy a nice SP-100-12, they are cheap enough and won't kill your precious chessboard.

^ I'm confused...
It may get close to ~$1200 if I get a router, which I should, resistance is futile... My poor wallet...

Re: Piece display PCB discussion
I have my own rolls of kester so I'm good. That lead-free stuff you're supplying will be given away or thrown out. Lead is the (not so) secret ingredient that makes electronics work properly.

Re: Powering up the complete parts
I'm down to $110.40 for all the brass hardware excluding the miscellaneous brass screws/nuts/washers for various odds and ends in the base. I have a feeling those will add up as I'll have to purchase more than I need of everything... It's still gonna cost over $300 when all is said and done (adding ...

Re: Powering up the complete parts
Wouldn't this be a better deal? - http://www.ebay.com/itm/25-M4-Old-Style-Brass-Thumb-Nuts-/290357873555?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item439aad8b93 I should only need the 10 extra brass thumbnuts and 10 extra brass bolts, so if you're including them I should be set as the rest of the hardware inc...

Re: Powering up the complete parts
The parts I'm looking at for building the base box I've been designing have already broken $300 WITHOUT THE WOOD ... Solid brass prices are insane... That and I'm looking at the best quality shit... But, it will look awesome if my wallet allows me to buy the parts. It will have a top cover that cont...

Re: Piece display PCB discussion
Just get a "Fluke 87-V", they're awesome.
As for power supplies get a "Mean Well SP-100-12". Then you could use it as a benchtop power supply when you're not powering the chessboard.

Re: Powering up the complete parts
Have you thought of using the board terminal thumbnuts on your power supply output? - I could include a couple of extras for it. Nothing is finalized yet, so go ahead and throw the extra brass thumbnuts in. Brass thumbnuts on the brass power supply terminals would be a nice touch. My brass terminal...
